Monday 8th June
Stitch & Bloom
As the Cromlix garden comes into its early summer glory, join Edinburgh based textile artist Lucy Freeman for a beautiful day of contemporary floral embroidery.
Lucy's approach is quick, expressive and easy to learn, encouraging you to paint with thread in a loose, painterly style full of colour and delicate detail. Beginning from the absolute basics of threading a needle, she will guide you through four simple stitches to create a stunning floral embroidery inspired by the flowers growing in the Cromlix garden itself.
Throughout the workshop, Lucy's own embroidery artwork will be on display alongside botanical illustrations, drawings and fresh flowers from the garden. A naturally inspiring backdrop to your creative day.
As one of the first guests to experience the newly transformed Cromlix, your workshop will take place in our Library, with our signature Afternoon Tea served in the intimate setting of our Study.
What to expect:
- A morning of guided embroidery tuition with Lucy Freeman.
- All materials including fabric, threads, templates, embroidery hoop and needle.
- Instructional sheets and access to video tutorials to continue at home.
- Everything yours to take away at the end of the day.
- Signature Afternoon Tea served in our Study.
